Wear Sunscreen or the Sunscreen Speech are the common names of an essay actually called ā€œAdvice, like youth, probably just wasted on the youngā€, written by Mary Schmich and published in the Chicago Tribune as a column in 1997.

Her article for the Chicago Tribune became one of the first viral emails and was even recorded by director Baz Luhrmann as "The Sunscreen Song" in 1999.
