FS Extra 👣 Try this simple breath to feel calmer fast

Have you ever noticed how quickly tension can build in the body, even on an ordinary day?
Sometimes it is not one big problem. It is just too many small things, too much thinking and not enough pause.
That is why I wanted to share one of the simplest calming tools I know, along with a short video on the page that shows you exactly how to do it.
It is called the 4 7 8 breathing exercise and it was popularised by Dr Andrew Weil.
The method is simple. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds and breathe out slowly for 8 seconds.
That slower extended exhale may help activate the body's relaxation response, slow a racing mind and reduce the physical feelings that often come with stress.
Many people also use breathing practices like this before sleep because they can help settle mental chatter and release built up tension.
You do not need equipment, extra time or the perfect setting.
You can use it before sleep, during stress, after difficult news or anytime your mind feels overcrowded.

What I like most about simple practices like this is that they put some power back in your hands.
You may not control everything happening around you, yet you can often influence what is happening within you.
Even one minute of conscious breathing can change the direction of a moment.
That moment can change the direction of a day.
When life feels noisy, small anchors matter.
This may become one of yours.
