Consider what your attention is really building


We often assume we're best to fight our negative reactions.

We try to suppress frustration, attempt to eliminate anger and tell ourselves we should not feel certain things.

Strangely enough, that effort often makes those reactions even stronger.

Yet the more you resist something, the more attention it receives.

Attention is like oxygen for the mind. Whatever you continually think about, analyse or fight against slowly expands its influence.

Once you see this pattern clearly, something changes. You start noticing where your focus goes during ordinary moments. You notice what receives energy and what quietly fades into the background.

Catch the patterns shaping your reactions
